Structural wood construction screws

______
Timber constructions are increasingly used in the construction world because of their many advantages. They are light, they can be built quickly, but they are still sturdy enough. That is why there is an increasing focus on high-quality timber construction screws
The pfs range was recently expanded to include the PFRVTV full-thread screws to strengthen weak points in the construction of timber structures. The sturdy screws ensure that the pressure and forces are distributed to crucial areas.

When do you use reinforcement screws?
______
Avoiding compression

In load-bearing wood joints, there is a lot of pressure where the support beams rest on the uprights. The wood fibres are compressed there and this can lead to subsidence. The reinforcement screws absorb this pressure and thus prevent sagging.
______
Preventing cracks

During every construction or renovation, openings are made for the passage of pipes. In wooden support beams, this can cause a weak spot. Cracks may appear in the direction of the wood grain. Reinforcing screws are applied in these places to guarantee the bearing capacity.
______
Avoid shifting

With direct wood-to-wood joints, reinforcement screws are inserted diagonally to prevent them from shifting relative to each other. By inserting them crosswise, one screw is under tension load and another under pressure load, thus stopping the shear load.

PFRVTV: essential characteristics
______
Point

The tip is specially designed for a quick installation of the screw. Due to its cutting properties, wood is removed quickly and the driver needs to apply less force to get the screw into the wood. This allows you to install them without pre-drilling in most types of construction timber.
______
Thread

The fully continuous thread of the screws is important for a good distribution of forces over the entire length of the wood. The resistance is distributed over the whole screw.
______
Head

Stiffening screws come with a countersunk head for easy penetration into the wood, but are also designed to avoid splitting. The T-40 head ensures a good transfer of power from your driver to the screw.
